Both the Westside Barber Shop on Micheltorena near San Andres and Family Barber near the Turnpike Von's are excellent for a simple men's haircut, and both charge $16.

For years I have cut my husband's hair and he has cut mine. We tried many hairdressers in town without luck so we decided to give it a try. It worked! People have remarked on my cute short "pixie " cut. Recently a woman came up to our table in a local restaurant and said she just had to ask about my hairdresser. I said he is great - I have been sleeping with him for years!

I just was at the Paul Mitchel School. I got my hair colored and cut for $33 - the hair cut price (with another service) was $8 - if you just want your hair cut, I think it's only $10. I've been going there for years and have had the best haircuts. I have very curly hair and unless you know how to cut with the curl, it comes out a mess.

Go to Jesse at Palms Barber on Calle Laureles- been going there for years and he is the best. Very laid back. You can call ahead to make appt or drop in. Very accomodating - will work around your schedule- willing to stay late or always squeeze you in.

Two men I live with go to the Beauty College at Magnolia Shopping Center (near Lassens and Thrift Shop). They both get the BEST haircuts, and for about $12 or something ridiculous. They have both told me, only recently, how stupid they feel about having paid big bucks all these years, when they could have been going to the Beauty College. There's a supervisor beautician, they said, and each time they've got great cuts.
Go there.

If you cut it short get a FloBee. I have been using one for 17 years and it was just about the best thing I ever bought. Instead of driving 20 minuites to the barber, waiting up to an hour, sitting 20 minutes for a cut, and paying for all that nonsense, I cut my hair in 10 minutes in my bathroom.
