Whoa! Someone must have missed the stop sign at the end of the steep Calle Canon. People speed down there all the time. There must have been 5 or 6 fire engines that just blared through the neighborhood! I hope it turns out OK.

I was there stuck in my car as intersection closed until five min ago. Driver of car- a "mini"- walked away, no injuries after being extricated.

Hope the mini driver is alright. My neighbors tricked out 911 was thrown up over the curbing from the impact. The Westside Speedway over Valerio has seen quite a few serious accidents on this corner. The speed bumps don't do squat to slow drivers down. We need more patrols, or at least one of the speed displaying monitors to remind the Parnelli's to slow down.

Where are the complaints about charging the person for emergency response? No one minds paying for a vehicle accident (this one sounds suspiciously self-imposed), yet they complain about helping an injured or lost hiker. We should all be thankful there are people who work or volunteer to help us, even when we do something stupid.

You're right, Roger, it seems like there's been a rollover every day since the rains started - though I doubt weather had much to do with this one.

Well, we are already paying the firefighters and cops to do this job- respond to accidents. One of the reasons that it would be difficult to bill for the response is that the billing rates for public employees are pretty high. If we could choose from among several companies competing for our response dollars, the cost would be much lower. I guess we could decide as a society which "emergencies" we want them to respond to- car accidents yes, hikes into the back country no.

354P: Could you not complain about the lack of complaints, even if it's facetious? Bringing up "hot" topics in every thread really only manages to bring out the worst comments and makes it even tougher to sort through all the junk to get actual info.

493, I think the 1400 block of W. Valerio Street is the perfect location for Target.

493, do you have any idea how many Smart Meters are on that block? Do you know what a Smart Meter can do to the keyless ignition system of a Mini Cooper? 'Nuff said.
