Scanner Reports 12-3-12
updated: Dec 03, 2012, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Hair We are anutter Monday. 22 Or So more Shoplifting Daze toward Christmas, it's been raining off and on a few days now, the Depression is setting in some people I see it in their eyes, mine has always been around Thank the Good Dog for that. I'm used to it pretty much.

Things are back to normal around the old Homestead I'm back to being treated like dirt and that is the way it has always been it used to feel normal, but it don't anymore. I don't like it anymore so I have to make changes to take care of myself, more than likely those changes will come before I can change them anyway.

On Saturday as I was going to Panaderia Veronica, a lite rain was falling as I was passing the front porch next door I heard someone say "If you have any spare change at all you could make the day of a poor homeless person." I turned and there were five grown men who looked very healthy, I burst out laughing in their faces. I don't have any spare change anymore and it's not my problem that they are houseless. Some people out there are really hurting I wouldn't hesitate to help someone I knew was down on their luck but these guys looked like a bunch of con men and they ain't getting a dime outta me.

Barry Berkus Very nice man The Galleria was one of his projects it never seemed to really make it off the ground but I think the location had a lot to do with that. I was the Day Time Security Guard there when it first opened. I worked for a security company that is no longer in existence here in Santa Barbara "WBC" Security. People used to ask me what WBC Stood for and I always answered We Blow Cheap, we did too. I made 3.50 cents an hour working there. My favorite memory is when the Chicago Bears won the Super Bowl I had to work so I got rid of the elevator music and broadcast the game full blast over the PA System. Barry wasn't there that day. There were a lot of neat people working there I'm sure most of them became successful in life and some probably read Edhat today. I still work for WBC even though the company no longer exists.

Seems like there are a lot of assaults lately must be the rain kinda like my hometown get drunk on Saturday night and knock the HELL outta each other. That was about all there was to do especially in the Winter time. The only thing I really miss was keeping my beer cold in the snow. A couple hours buried in the snow pop it open and enjoy the coldest beer in the world it was Heavenly. More of the Good Old Days that I miss.
