These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
updated: Dec 02, 2012, 7:03 PM

By Patti Guttshall

Driving up the pass I stopped to view one of my favorite spots. Within minutes it began to rain. Between the mist and the rain these images have a life of their own.

These remind me of one of my favorite Turner renderings, a landscape of pastels done on sandpaper. Fantastic shots.

Looks like 154 at the upper end of Cachuma Lake. The Lake is down and out of the way of view. I get to drive by this every day!

Gorgeous pastoral view.... even though no pastures are in evidence. I love that segment of the SYRiver too as it flows into L. Cachuma.

These are absolutely gorgeous! Wonderful photographs. I hope you answer the poster who asked for the location. I'd like to go there.

650 you are right. It's on 154 the end of Cachuma Lake. This spot changes almost daily. I try to grab a shot of it when I go by. Not shown in these images are the colors to the left that goes toward the water. There is room to stop safely on 154 going south.

It is going to take a lot more that the three small storms we had this weekend to get the Santa Ynez River to run. El Nino would do it!

This area is a painters dream spot. Those photos increased in size and attached to a canvas would make fantastic wall paintings.

Who says we don't have fall color in So. California? These pics are wonderful!
