Santa Hat 2012 Winner

Our Edhat Staff was full of holiday cheer, counting away, and sipping on hot cider as the parade floated down State Street. Rain our shine, the locals watched with umbrellas and blankets, taking in the holiday spirit.

The Ed Staff was shocked to find out the low number of Santa Hats this year, especially since last year's number was 1,123. Well, there were only 750 Santa Hats in the Holiday Parade in 2012, an all time low on the Edhat scale. Click here to see a graph of past counted Santa Hats.

So what do you think, did the rain play a part in the amount of hats? Is there a shortage of red velvet or were people more concerned with keeping dry? Either way, we congratulate our Edhat Subscriber edhatbarbara for the closest guess of 884. You've won yourself an Edhat t-shirt, unfortunately it's not water-proof but it will look great under a Christmas sweater.

I think I guessed 890 ... pretty close. I based my educated guess on the predicted rain.
