I never heard anything about people trapped I would have posted if I did.

It was some time before the post here.
They said something about in the basement. Sounded like they had some communication issue with the radio down there. Eng and Truck 1 was released shortly thereafter.

Nice place to be trapped. I wonder if they lowered blackened ahi salad and lattes down to those trapped.

Have you ever noticed how many elevator inspection permits are expired?

I hear some people once got trapped on the escalator at Macy's when it stopped working. They just had to stand there until the problem was fixed.

REX. That's so old, it has hair on it.

For fun and recreation, and because I've seen far too many "trapped in an elevator" movie scenes, I always examine the ceiling when in an elevator. It passes the time, to stand and wonder if I could make it up and out the top.

Some elevators have that metal hand rail, which would be helpful, when hoisting oneself up overhead. I don't know about how some of the ceilings are attached, though. Maybe it would be good to start carrying a phillips AND a flathead screwdriver?

Does anyone know how long they were there?

My guess is not long.

It was Engine 1, Truck 1 and Rescue 1 that responded.
Eng 1 and Truck left scene pretty quickly - less than half an hour.

I didn't hear when Rescue 1 left but considering when the other two did it either was considered finished or not that difficult. So they were likely out by then or soon to be.

This started before 10AM so it likely wasn't customers in there as they weren't open yet.

FYI: Engine 1 is what you consider a normal fire truck. Truck 1 is the huge fire engine that has a lot of extra tools on it and also has the rear driver. It responds to anything city wide that needs the extra they can provide. Rescue 1 is a smaller vehicle about the size of a normal truck and doesn't have hose lines or put out fires - they respond to many medical type calls in downtown SB.

Am I the only one who cannot read the spaced out posts when they are used? I don't know why or how they do that, but I have to skip over the post due to inability to read it.

568P. Do you mean when writers hit the "return" key, and thus add a space to indicate a new paragraph is being added? I have no problems with it.
