if they help out as much as they help the people at scolari's, then the SBBT employee's are in big trouble. they did nothing for us.

I went through that same stuff when Santa Barbara Saving & Loan closed 43 branches, then Infomag, Advanced Computer Communication ,Joselyn Electronics and layoffs at Raytheon. I am sure Edhat Readers could make a list of hundreds of employers that have closed here in Santa Barbara County and Our government tells us everything is getting better! I only see the rich getting richer. Everyone else is suffering, no jobs, just foreclosures.

"Rapid Response Mode" vs what? "DMV Employee Mode" ? What a joke. My heart goes out to the bank employees being laid off. I dont see how Union Bank can consider this good for their business, to me its a kiss of death - their rates arent that amazing that I would ignore what they have done to the community, to do business with them now makes zero sense.

097 because those being unfortunately laid off are are positions in which union bank already has employees for.. duh.. Sounds like all the branch staff are staying the same, so it muse be support staff and upper management... but from what i read it sounds like they will be employed at least till april 30th is that at least some good news in the bad news..

If SBB&T employees want to try the option of starting their own business, they might call the Women's Economic Ventures (men, too!) at 965-6073 (ask for Karley) or the SV/Ventura Small Business Development Center - 6874151 (ask for Mike).

No worries! Those laid off will be able to get almost 2 years of unemployment!
