Isla Vista Burglary Arrests
updated: Nov 21, 2012, 10:53 AM

Source: Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department

At approximately 6:00pm on November 20, 2012 residents from the 6500 block of Trigo Road came to the Isla Vista Foot Patrol to report a residential burglary that had just occurred. UCPD Officers from the Foot Patrol station responded to the apartment and set up a perimeter with knowledge the suspects may still be in the area. With the victims' description of the suspects and a review of the on-site surveillance video, officers were able to identify the suspects and ascertain their location in the complex.

Officers located and contacted two suspects, identified as SBCC students Alan Cook (DOB 11-16- 90) and Logan Kosher (DOB 8-19-93) inside a nearby apartment. The suspects were found to be in possession of the stolen property from the burglary, (6) DVDs, a Play Station 3, (3) I-Phones and a Mac Book Pro laptop. Both suspects were arrested and the stolen property was returned to the victims.

Cook and Kosher were both booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for violations of 459 P.C. - Residential burglary and 496(a) P.C. - Possession of stolen property with bail set at $50,000.00.

The Isla Vista Foot Patrol partners with the UCSB Associated Students, local residents and businesses in the "Stop the Burgs" program. The program reminds students/residents to lock their doors/windows and keep their valuables out of plain view. Report any suspicious subjects to the Isla Vista Foot Patrol at (805)681-4179.
