November 11, 2012 - Marathon Stamina

Santa Barbara was recently overrun with... well runners. The Santa Barbara Marathon took place this weekend while runners from around the world traveled to our small paradise to physically exert themselves. Roger was following the scanner reports closely and monitored the status of our local and visiting athletes. Fortunately there was nothing extremely serious, just a few sprains and exhaustions here and there.

Finally the Santa Barbara weather is cooling into the fall and winter category. It's now time to break out those boots, sweaters and scarves as it seems the heat waves have ceased. Thankfully the benefit to living in Santa Barbara is the temperature never falling too low or too high, meaning.. well we're extremely lucky. Enjoy the "seasons" while you can.

The Dog of the Week is Noodle, a sassy terrier mix we think. The Cat of the Week is Zippy, the coolest cat in the neighborhood. Marc Liberts compares the different Syrah grapes from California and Syrah, our Teen Voice writer discusses the recent election and women's rights, and Poncho our resident pooch advises our readers how to train their dog on a leash.

---- Edhat Stuff ----------------------------------

WINE: Marc Liberts continues to compares Syrah from California and Washington.

CAT OF THE WEEK: Meet Zippy, the coolest cat in the neighborhood.

DOG OF THE WEEK: Meet Noodle, the sassy terrier mix who thinks she's part doberman.
