That door color is wild! But is that plastic turf I see in the middle "lawn" strip of the driveway? This place looks a bit anal to me, with not a leaf or twig in sight.

Yes, a lot of the beauty and fun glimpses around town are in the details. Nice to see such contributions - wish there were more such postings. The posting might encourage more Edhat image postings of sights other than Santa Barbara sunsets and sunrises. (Positive reinforcement intended, not snarkiness)

832.. are you kidding, did you look at the last photo with the kids hugging and the edging was a mix of worn out wood and other border materials, leaves on ground & gravel, etc... And what's wrong with anal if someone enjoys having their personal artistry on display, we all get to enjoy it, hope more anals out there do the same! Love all art!

OP here for clarification - the modern art ornamentation was photographed five blocks away from the sculpture of the kids in front of another home.

Part of the anal quality of that first house might be new installation. That perfect strip of sod between two pristine rows of concrete cannot have weathered too many SB summers, and the paint looks newly applied. The plants around the foundation look like they just came out of nursery containers.

159P. Thanks for pointing all that out. (I made the anal comment originally.) The whole thing, while I do appreciate the "artistry," looks too put together and straight-laced and prissy to me. Guess I like a bit more of a natural look to my yards. To me, leaf litter and a bit of over-growth means happy birds and bugs. Oh . . .and to BONNER: twigs and such were five blocks away, says OP. Please note.

Bottom line is that there is another wonderful whimsical house in town!! Thank goodness for that after seeing row after row of cookie cutter houses and "Spanish" style McMansions. There's nothing anal about the place, although the colors and ironwork are quite "Dr. Suessish" if I may say. Sally and Sue have totally remodeled, upgraded, and landscaped their house and probably won't like seeing photos of their property posted on the Internet, let alone the anal references.
