Cold Fire Investigation Update

SANTA BARBARA, Ca. November 8, 2012 - On the afternoon of November 6, 2012, numerous resources responded to initial reports of a vegetation fire burning in heavy fuels and in steep terrain, in the hills above Montecito. The Cold Fire was located near the Cold Springs Trail, off of East Mountain Dr.

UPDATE: Santa Barbara County Fire Department investigators have determined that the Cold Fire was directly related to human activity. The investigation is ongoing.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department investigators are requesting public assistance with information from anyone that was in the area regarding the cause of the Cold Fire.
