Daniel Esquivel, who pleaded to attempted murder with a great bodily injury enhancement and a street
terrorism count, was sentenced to 12 years in state prison for a 2011 stabbing.

Why do I find this sentence far too lenient? I guess I've watched far too much Law & Order where criminals like this got 25 to life.

0569... the charge was attempted murder not murder. Also Law & Order is based on NY sentencing guidelines.
