Agree, 519. Heck, Costco, Target & K-Mart had their Christmas stuff out at the end of August. Gimme a break! "Back in the day," you didn't see Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving. That way you could savor, feel & enjoy the holiday as it approached & really get into it. I'll be we start seeing Easter items out on the shelves in a week or so, followed by the summer boogie boards and bathing suits. Oh, yeah!

Poor dogs and cats and shorebirds. Fireworks are fun for the humans, not so much for the animals. Dogs and cats are killed by vehicles every year, due to feeling terror-stricken and trying to flee the awful noise. I used to like fireworks a lot better, before I realized how many animals suffered due to our need for Parade of Lights and 4th of July displays.

@519, nobody's rushing things! Sometimes it's fun to think ahead and if you have family or friends coming into town for the holidays, you can't plan ahead far enough...or at least start thinking about it. Nothing wrong with a little foresight and anticipation. Nobody is asking you to not celebrate each holiday in it's own time, so calm down and enjoy it all! :)

NO fireworks on New Year's Eve. There has not been any in 12 years.
