Via Maestra 42 serves it, but I must admit it's not that great for $31.95.

Stay away from the Osso Buco at Via Maestra 42. Worst I have ever had. In fact, I was sorely disappointed with just about everything at Via Maestra 42. Aldo's serves Osso Buco. $29.95.

Ca Dario's is the BEST I've ever had. Served with saffron risotto. YUM!

Olio e Limone serves an awesome Osso Bucco. Not sure the source of their meat but hopefully they use tender, tender unborn veal fetuses. ;-)

The Osso Buco riblets at Eureka are very good, too. Have you tried Giannfranco's Trattoria in Carpinteria? I think it's the best kept secret restaurant in the town and their Osso Buco is to DIE for!

Used to like Osso Bucco very much, but I don't eat veal anymore. I will eat beef, but not the babies. I suppose that labels me as hypocritical - Oh well...

If you are up for a drive, The Alisal Guest Ranch located south of Solvang has amazing Osso bucco. Not sure on the price, however it comes with a 3 course meal. They do not always have it so call ahead, their menu changes daily and by the season.

@892P - I have no problem with you deciding to eat (or not) anything. I could care less as a matter of fact. I think the larger point here is for people to stop proselytizing to others. I guarantee there are other issues you'd prefer not to be preached to by others.

I too miss reading the deleted comments. Hint to Ed. Oh, on topic: Ca Dario was my first thought. And silly stupid me, I don't eat veal either but do eat beef a few times a year. Maybe because I can afford a steak on 50% off sale.

Braised lamb shank, on the other hand, is one of my favorite foods. Must splurge! Yes, absolutely illogical.
