What kind of business would you like to see fill the available Blockbuster space at the Albertson's anchored
Buellton Town Center in Buellton?

It'd sure be a little Target, SBSURFERLIFE. Target would be better suited across the street in the HUGE, empty, new, proposed shopping center development, but there's a good one already in Santa Maria.

I personally want a credit union. Not one in Buellton, Solvang or Santa Ynez. Banks are becoming so tiresome.

People who want a grocery store in that space aren't being realistic. Albertsons is the anchor and there's no way they're going to allow a direct competitor to set up shop across the parking lot. That would be silly. If fast food, I'd go for a Five Guys or Fatburger but there are already 4 burger places in that area. Maybe Panda Express would work. Or I could go for a discount shoe store. Time to break the Solvang Shoe Store's stranglehold on the valley. If it's big enough, a full casual clothing store. It sucks to have to drive all the way to Santa Maria to pick up a couple of cheap shirts.

Please - NO Panda Express! We ate at the one in Lompoc and unless you are a marine mammal there is no way that the salt content of their food would be appealing.

The valley does not have: - a good burger joint - Thai/SE Asian food Buellton needs places for people to gather and hang out, rather than go to work in SB/SM, commute home to sleep, get up and do it again. I'm not sure the Ballbuster space is big enough for much though.

As far as another Spearmint Rhino goes, they'd be like the missions - a day's walk apart. You could start in the LA area and go to Oxnard, SB, go to Buellton, on to SM & then all points north.

A sporting goods store would be great or a casual clothing store. It would be nice to be able to locally buy a pair or athletic socks or some underwear with out having to go to Lompoc or Santa Maria.

Five Guys would rock! Talk about putting the complete hurt on Mickey D's, Carls Jr., Jack in the Box & Burger King. Of those, Jack's would fold along with Carl's Jr. & Burger King. Mickey would survive on it's massive corporate backing & salads. Forget the fries, because Five Guys' fries are the best! Yep - better than the sugared up Mickey's. :-(

How about something for kids to occupy themselves, something to do. An arcade, a youth club... something that could be fun to hang out in. There is NOTHING to do in the Valley for kids.

Nothing for kids to do? Hike, ride a bike, play in the river, go to a park, play sports, swim at the Y, and so on. Maybe there's not much when it comes to stay indoors and eat junk food and not exercise activities.

165, I totally agree! A good hang out burger joint would was my first thought. But a Thai place would be awesome too. Or maybe some kind of casual cafe.

A restaurant like Big Sky Cafe in SLO which I discovered today. Yelp classifies them as "New American" food. They are a fusion of classic and ethnic (i.e. Mediterranean, Vietnamese, Mexican, just to name a few), and there's something for everyone. It's one of those places I want to try everything on the menu.
