updated: Oct 29, 2012, 11:14 AM

We are having a Halloween party, and was wondering if anybody knows where to find dry ice in town?

A bunch of grocery stores carry it. I know Ralphs on upper De La Vina and the Ralphs near Patterson in the Magnolia center have it. Not sure about other chains, but I wouldn't be surprised. You've probably walked past the boxes a ton of times & never even noticed them. That said, I have no idea how the pricing compares to a place that sells specifically ice. Might be worth calling & asking if cost is a consideration. (PS: If you do, please report back - if it's cheap enough, I might bust out a cauldron on Wednesday night...)

The guys @SB Ice on Milpas are great. They'll also fill your BBQ tank w/ propane.

Mark at SB Ice is the best. Give your biz to these locals.

I think I will stick with a grocery store in another part of town. Have you been to lower Milpas lately?! No thank you very much.

Most Albertsons have them. We put dry ice in to keep our venison hard frozen in MT, in NV, and then twice here (all dry ice obtained from Albertsons), when our freezer here wasn't yet set up and cold. Worked perfectly.
