Scanner Reports 10-29-12
updated: Oct 29, 2012, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Anutter Monday to add on to all the otter Mondays and there has been many and I feel every single one of them. Pooh Bear too he's got some horrible arthritis I was hoping to avoid the vet thru Christmas but that ain't happening he's gotta go and maybe me too! Anyway the Holidays are close there is usually a surge of theft around the holidays. Some people say it's because others need money for Christmas to feed their families so they turn to theft, but it's probably just another opportunist's excuse they tell the judge when they get caught in hope their sentence will be less. Theft and other opportunist crimes go on all year around.

The otter day I wrote about some jerk getting his mitts in people's mail boxes on the West Side we will see more of that because of cards and packages sent through the mail this time of year. There is a market for everything nowadays; even my size 56 Underpants which can also serve as a tent. I once knew a guy that sold his underpants to score some crack cocaine he was a professional comedian but that's no joke. You gotta keep ahold of everything nowadays. People will even steal your underpants! I really did not hear alot of the IV Halloweener Get Together over the weekend maybe they were using another channel I don't have on my scanner, or their Nextels. I did hear a few alcohol overdoses, an LSD Overdose. I'm sure it was very busy it looked like there were a lot of people there. Maybe I'm just so used to hearing calls from IV it don't seem any different to me. I did hear some juvenile calls a 17 year old girl ODed on alcohol, some juveniles doing an alcohol run at Albertsons on Hollister where they got away with some Jack Daniels.

You know I'm listening to this stuff and writing it down for you all to read I'm getting to remember all the booze me and my friends ripped off when we was kids I surely ain't no Mr. Innocent. When I was a kid The Folks were afraid of us kids getting hooked on drugs so they really didn't care if we drank alcohol, and smoked cigarettes. It was a different time some store clerks let some kids buy alcohol and some even turned their head when we ripped em off. We could always find a drunken adult to buy our booze especially if you bought them theirs. I will never forget the time when me and some other runaway kids broke the seal on a box car in Fort Wayne, Indiana and opened her up. It was filled with case after case of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer I thought we died and went to Heaven, but then I'm an alcoholic. Some guys remember their first time. I remember the Great PBR Train Robbery of 1975! I'm not trying to glorify my criminal behavior or any thang like that, but theft of alcohol and its abuse among the young is nothing new I did it over 40 Beers ago myself. I'm sure a lot of us have done thangs were not proud of thangs our kids and Grand Kids have never heard about. To some of them, some of you are Saints. I was baptized Catholic and I sure ain't no Saint! I look at some of the people I grew up with, a lot of them did cocaine, the ones that aren't dead are straighter than an arrow, and judgmental as HELL. Kinda tempting to remind them of the Good Old Days in front of their families. Might be able to Black Mail them enough for a Woodchipper, heeheehee.

Will hopefully everything is starting to quiet down now it's SNOT like there is a Full Moon right around the corner or anything. My kitty isn't doing so hot right now gotta see if I can get him into the vet tomorrow I noticed some sniffles earlier but he also has some horrible pain. I carried him from next door in this little kitty house, (It's made of cloth) Poor little guy screamed out in pain the way I was carrying him. I didn't know that he was in extreme pain. I guess a lot of people can't understand how someone can love a cat like that but the little booger is my best friend. He's been here 14 years then some and he has always been there for me when others left. (He really didn't have any choice I fed him good.) I made a commitment when I quit da booze that I would always be there for the kitties I always have pretty much. I'll tell you what I sure don't want to let go if something's wrong. I'm praying he's just got a little cold thing going on ya know like when your bones hurt all over. Got to take care of the little critter. Will that's it outta me. Dog Willing me, Pooh Bear, Joey Canoli, and Ballistic Belinda, will see you on Wednesday. Roger
