Golden State Challenge Ride

The Golden State Challenge/Ride 2 Recovery bicycle ride is
moving through California from San Francisco to Santa Monica Pier this week
until Saturday, October 27, Caltrans officials have announced.
It began on Sunday, Oct. 21 in San Francisco. The times are roughly 8-9 am
to 4-6 pm each day.
The sequence of the ride:
10/21-Day 1: South SF to Santa Cruz
10/22-Day 2: Santa Cruz to Monterey/Carmel
10/23-Day 3: Carmel to San Simeon
10/24-Day 4: San Simeon to Pismo Beach
10/25-Day 5: Pismo Beach to Solvang
10/26Day 6: Solvang to Santa Barbara
10/27-Day 7: Santa Barbara to Santa Monica
The routes used will be: Hwy. 1 (District 4, 5 and 7), 35 (District 4
only), 101 (District 5 SB / District 7 VEN), 154 & 246 (District 5 only).
The CHP will oversee the highway closures while approximately 175 riders
move through these areas. The public is encouraged to be aware of these
cyclists and support vehicles as they move through the area.
