Here is a closer look at this often misunderstood beauty that was recently posted here and spotted in SYV . This male was seen in a local canyon while I photographed brush goats!

Two young girls just ahead of me on the asphalt part of Tunnel trail suddenly let out a blood curdling scream and scurried off! With camera in hand, I immediately spotted the hairy male beauty that frightened them. Carefully I crouched down a few feet away facing him as he slowly ambled down the hard path, all ten legs motoring separately. Finally reaching his destination in the brush, eight eyes began to search for a bug meal. Though forewarned by a passing hiker while capturing this close-up that he could jump and bite, I was spared being hit with sharp, abdomen needle hairs and his non-poisonous but painful fangs. The bleat of a nearby Goat, the camera's flash and the young lady's screams did not appear to rattle Mr. Tarantula. You be the judge!
