County Farmers Market

Santa Barbara County is fortunate to have 8 busy Farmers Markets, 6 days a week; from Goleta, Santa
Barbara, Solvang, Carpinteria to Montecito. I love the Farmer's Market. There's something about local
growers producing exceptionally flavorful, healthful, organic fruits and vegetables. Maybe it's getting to
know the farmer that grows the food. Maybe it's the fact that more capital remains in the local community.
The social part of our local farmers market is fun, too.
Best part for me, though, is that the flavors of locally grown foods can't be matched. Tomatoes pop, bell
peppers explode and summer squash snaps.
Evidently, farmers markets were commonplace before the Industrial age, dwindled in popularity, but are
making a nice comeback now.
Here are some images of colors of the Carpinteria Farmers Market.
