Munching for Safety
updated: Oct 18, 2012, 9:37 AM

Brush goats were credited for saving homes after the last wildfire. They've reduced ladder and fire fuels in these surrounding canyons. On a recent hike I observed them munching away near the trail-head. They're protected by trained predator watchdogs who will fiercely enforce if any human or animal, wild or domestic, messes with the herd...even stopping to photograph! These goats have a big job to do..they certainly are passionate about their work!
