Meeting Space

We are a small non-profit that needs a meeting space for board meetings about once a month. Is there any place that can be used for little or no cost?

Have you checked with the public library? They have meeting rooms available.

How about a local church?

Santa Barbara Bank & Trust has a lovely community room on Anacapa near Carrillo. No cost for non-profits. Another example of SBB&T's being a good neighbor.

Check with Santa Barbara Bank & Trust. They have the Community Partners Center in the Hill-Carrillo Adobe on Carrillo for just that purpose -- free use of the meeting rooms and patio for local non-profits. I sit on one BOD that meets there. It is a great community outreach. You can google a 3/2/11 article in Noozhawk on it.

My company uses the Pepper Tree Inn on upper State. Great large room and great service.

Check with the nonprofits at the Arts & Culture buildling at 1330 State Street as well as the Larry Crandell Nonprofit Center 1528 Chapala (Both owned by Hutton Parker Foundation)- they have conference rooms and will let you use them if you have one of the nonprofits 'sponsor' you and put you on the calendar! Good luck.

The brand new Marriott Courtyard at Girsh Park has a meeting room. I have no idea about nonprofit use fee (or not) but worth checking out. The hotel is very nice looking.

I think the conference room off the lobby at Cabrillo Pavilion is free, check with City Parks & Rec.

FYI - the new Marriott Courtyard on Storke charges plenty for using their conference rooms. I don't believe they give a break to nonprofits but I would call to be sure.

Is there a Grange Hall in SB? They allow use of their hall for non-profits and community groups. Many Grange Hall Assn's are undergoing a resurgence as young people are getting involved in farming along the Calif Coast.
