Beach Bulldozing

I noticed a bulldozer and another heavy-equipment truck doing some sand work immediately east of the
Wharf. Does anyone know the purpose of this work?

Time to start dredging and here they are burying the discharge pipe. The dredged material is discharged at East Beach in front of the Red Lion.

It looks like they were building a sand berm for the winter storm season.
