Cloud Watching
updated: Oct 11, 2012, 3:57 PM
By Dan Seibert
From the Biltmore to the harbor it's been a good day to watch the sky. Earlier this morning clouds were
forming to the east, over the islands and mountains to the north. I stopped by the harbor for lunch and
saw something red out on the pier. It's a two person submarine used to inspect underwater power cables.
They had just finished their and were headed back to Vancouver. The clouds over the island looked like
the perfect anvil thunderhead, while the ones above the SB fish market looked like something out of "Close
Encounters."

Oh, but if you look real REAL close, you can see a kitty in the clouds...

The cloud over the Biltmore gym (looking S-SE) looks like the incredible hulk. He's got a mad mischievous look on his face--run!! I like the little submarine -- it's like an underwater smartcar.

Whoa! Fantastic clouds. How fun, yes, that little submarine does look like a submerge-able smart car. Thanks for sending these, Dan.

Your pictures let one experience the splendor of the early morning light along the beach and the harbor. That diving vessel is one of several I saw on a boat from the Waitt Institute of Seattle. Does anyone know what they are doing here?
