Anyone else notice the ghastly figure to the left of the shanty?

Is that where Stacky's is now?

Stacky's is across the street. I bet Rennie Yater and Billy Meng used to hang out at "The Shanty" after a day of good surf.

DARYL: There are no houses behind Stacky's, right?

Stacky's? The line under the photo clearly says "It is now the Nugget Restaurant."

Great photo. Brings back memories of my brothers and sisters surfing at "Stanley's" - which was an amazing surf spot adjacent to Seacliff Beach (south of the Rincon) where we grew up as kids. The new freeway destroyed Stanley's...but the memories will last forever.

If it's where the Nugget is now, by 1969 it was Hoopers Grocery. Later John Comin took over the store.

Other than the Banner House, Summerland sure was a fun and quiet little beach community back then.

Banner House was a big party house on Banner Ave. during the 60's & 70's.

Love mention of the Banner Manor! Sure were some good parties, practically every day was fun there. Some of the Banner crowd are dead, Buzzard, Miller, Bob Macy, Norris, Wayne; possibly more.
