Epicure: As Seen on TV

Last night I attended the Epicure SB: As Seen On TV event at the Lobero Theatre, thanks to the generous Edhat Ticket Giveaway!

All of the guests entered the theater and had the pleasure of hearing a panel of local chefs and bakers talk about their food and experience being on TV. We were delighted to hear the story of Paul and Kathy Shields from Savoy Café & Deli. They were featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Grant MacNaughton from Mac's Fish and Chip Shop was also on the same show and had the crowd laughing with his "proper" pronunciation of aluminum. Which he protests is (ah-loo-min-ee-um). Chef Budi Kazali was there from the Ballard Inn up in the Valley. Last but not least was the Cupcake Wars winner Alison Riede of Sugar Cat Studio.

After showing clips of their respective shows and short Q&A session, the crowd was invited out to the patio for a tasting of each person's food. If people could run without looks obnoxious, I'm sure they would have. Every piece of food was fantastic. The chefs were courteous and very proud of their creations. The mini cupcakes were so delicious that they seemed to be wiped out within minutes!

I took a few photos but I apologize for the poor quality as my hands were full of food. Thank you again Edhat!

I attended the event and it was great fun. Tickets were $15 and well worth it. Kudos to the Downtown Organization for organizing this informative and entertaining Epicurian event. Can't wait to try the restaurants featured cuz the food was excellent.
