SBHS Madrigal and A Cappella Choir alumni and choral music lovers in the community
have lost an extraordinary teacher and artist. Phyllis Zimmerman passed away this
morning after a long battle with cancer.

Amazing woman! Recognized my daughter's talent, and put her in the Mads. She now sings opera in NYC.

Phyllis is a very special person. Her musical gifts are undeniable but it is her warmth and sense of humor that will be most missed.

Her first year as A Capella teacher was my daughter's first year at SBHS. She taught more than voice to those kids. She taught qualities like self-discipline, focus, responsibility, hard work, and made mature, responsible people out of them all. When my daughter was here for her 40-year reunion receently, a group of them visited her in the hospital. She will be missed.
