Milpas Roundabout Rollover
updated: Oct 07, 2012, 9:46 AM

By the Urban Hikers

An SUV driven by one of four or five young men flipped at the Milpas roundabout at about 2:30 Saturday morning. Once in the roundabout, the driver of SUV, who was apparently going way too fast, failed to negotiate the road and hit the center of the roundabout, causing the SUV to flip.

According to witnesses, two or three of the SUV's occupants took off running after the accident, leaving the other two behind. As often happens at these late night accidents, there was some confusion between the occupants as to to who was driving at the time of the crash. Police are investigating to determine exactly who was behind the wheel of the SUV.

SBFD responded to the scene with Engine 2, and SBPD responded with several units. Paramedics also arrived to tend to the medical needs of the two remaining accident victims. Both of the young men left behind were transported to a local hospital for observation and treatment.
