Seismic Retrofit of the Hollister Avenue Underpass Bridge; Lane Closure for October 10th to the 12th

Santa Barbara County Public Works Department has started construction on the seismic retrofit of the Hollister Avenue Underpass Bridge 51C-018, located East of Modoc Road.

Next week the contractor, Souza Construction, will be moving their heavy equipment to the job site. Beginning Wednesday, October 10th, through Friday, October 12th, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, only one lane of traffic will be open. Traffic will be directed by a flagging crew.

The Department encourages the travelling public to use an alternate route when possible. Drivers should be aware of reduced speed zones, obey flaggers and construction traffic control signs when driving through the construction area. In the event of an emergency, the Contractor will immediately clear and open the road to allow emergency vehicle access.

Public Works Department officials wish to thank local residents, businesses, and the driving public for their patience and cooperation during construction.
