Contrail Arc

Did anyone else see the massive contrail arc that was lit up by the moon around 9:30pm? It arched completely across the sky and disappeared on the horizon. And in fact there were several that also crisscrossed it as well. I tried to take a picture with my ill-equipped iPhone but alas, no luck.

OP here. Does anyone know why the large arc looked so large? From my viewpoint to looked like a ring around the earth or the Milky Way. Perhaps the reflection off the moon? I had never seen anything like it!

I saw it from the SB Bowl while watching The Black Keys - pretty cool for sure. From my vantage point, it went right over the stage into the rising moon.

I saw it too! I had to grab something from my car, and noticed it! It really tripped me out. I thought I was imagining! Glad to know I wasn't secretly on crack or something! Thanks for this post!

There were about 5. The planes were visable, with a cool red glare on them from the sunset. They started around 6 or 645

Weird thing about it was the horizontal lines didn't expand? But the one vertical to the moon was expanding fast ! Also saw an incredibly fast moving object flying in between the two horizontal trails then it crossed the moon and thee other vertical trail but was behind both the moon and trail so it had to be in space!!! Any one see that? I wish I had my scope ...

I saw them and didn't find it unusual. The atmosphere was ripe for producing ice crystals from the contrails and they just grew as they moved along the sky. It was cool to see them through the moon as it was rising.

Yes, it was amazing, just beautiful. Two trails at right angles to each other we saw, one of them pointing straight toward the moon from the southwest, the other extending east and west through the whole sky. Just beautiful.

i want to tear out my hair when people try to blame clandestine government experiments for contrails. are people really that ignorant/crazy? things have gone downhill fast the last few decades. further evidence our school system is failing us.

I'm not going near the chemtrail contrail controversy : ) however, what creeped me out last night is that the arc truly looked like a rainbow arc across the sky. Seriously, how does that happen? A contrail starts to disintegrate and become crooked after a while, but the way the light was, it was a perfectly straight line all the way across the sky and down below the horizon. I wish someone could explain this phenomenon!

There are no chemtrails, there is no geo-engineering, and they aren't spraying anything. I just lost a long-time friend who went crazy on me because I dared to disagree with her that 9/11 was a demolition, sigh.
