TV Debate

Does anyone know if there will be any restaurants/sports bars with big screen TV's
tuned to the presidential debates? -- A friend and I are debating if we
should go out or stay in. We are both interested in seeing what others think of how
Obama and Romney do, but we also don't want to end up in the middle of a
screaming match.
Any suggestions here?

Hell, I suppose this stupid debate means Jeopardy is going to be preempted.

Why? Fist-a-cuffs will be the only result of doing that, IMHO.

I won't be watching. I generally see these debates as a complete waste of time. The candidates rarely answer questions and just stick to their talking points. High school debaters do a better job.

Not at any sports bars. It's the last night of regular-season baseball, and for some teams tonight means winning or losing a pennant.

Best bet is probably finding a friend who is having a "debate party". That's where I'll be.

Yeah I can't see that being a smart thing to air in a bar, people are too emotional about politics, I'm betting it would result in some nasty fights, not worth it!

Hope you find a venue for watching it with some people. We're having a few friends over and are excited about it. I hope you find a good setting. It is a national community event and feels good to share it. This seems like the bigger 'game' than baseball tonite! Thanks for expressing your interest in it!

Got kids so we're heading to Chuck-E-Cheese to watch old Three Stooges reruns. Probably will be similar to the debate.

There's an event at Petrini's on Calle Laureles starting at 5:30 p.m. It's hosted by the American Association of University Women.

Count me out. So tired of listening to Mitt try and explain why this last recession was the Democrats' fault and not 100% a result of greedy, corporate-backed, failed Republican policies.

Any voter that doesn't know how they are going to vote yet, shouldn't be allowed to vote!

When the debates were sponsored by the Women League of Voters, they were impartial and unscripted. This corporate version is completely agreed on in advance and no third party gets a voice. KPFK radio/internet will cover the debate AND ask the same questions of a third party candidate.

So true 386. Although I don't think KPFK will ask about how come the Federal Reserve is a private bank. Why do we have to pay back 700 Billion that a private bank just typed into a computer. How come no one has been brought to justice for the planned collapse? How come Corzine admitted to stealing a billion plus and no jail? Why is Bain capital backing both guys? Why is the country driven by the CFR, Tri Lateral commision and the Bilderberg group all of whom are not elected and meet with no press coverage?

Too bad Mike Stoker won't debate Hannah Beth Jackson in public. What he is afraid of?

Wow...and I thought the campaign attack ads were gnarly. Looks mudlslinging is trickling down to Edhat (would be the only example of that theory's success)

It's sad that Jim Lehrer let the nasty lying one talk far more than the nice honest one.
