Poor Cell Service

We live near Puesta del Sol and Miradero and AT&T last year said there'd be improved reception for this area and it hasn't happened. What are Edhat readers experiences with poor reception and dropped calls in the Santa Barbara area and what can be done to have the carriers improve?

Ha! AT&T "said" they would improve reception. They can say anything they want to get you to stay as a customer. Bottom line verizon is better. When your contract ends switch and keep the same number.

I frequently sit at Gallery 113 in La Arcarda Court and my T-Mobile phone has no signal.

had verizon for the past decade, never a service coverage issue. not in the immediate back country, hollister ranch, channel islands, gorman area, etc.

AT&T is the worst! We have dropped calls all the time and many dead areas in town. We have just learned to live with it...

I have Straight Talk/T Mobile and it is not great. Like the terrible service I had in the mid '90's with AT+T. But it's cheap.

Verizon is by far the best network, but you pay slightly more for it.

I live on Miradero. Switched to Verizon a year ago because of poor AT&T service. AT&T told me same thing about improving service. Never happened. I'm happy with Verizon.

Can an AT&T iPhone be switched to Verizon? I am thinking of trying Verizon on my new iPhone 5 but have two iPhones all part of family plan with AT&T

I have had AT&T for years and was happy but now I need to change. I moved to Paso Robles and the signal at my house is horrible. They suggested that I buy an antenna. Get real. My friends house on Carlo and Catherail Oaks in Goleta and it's been terrible all these years. They had to switch to Verizon. I think it's time to change. Another hassle of being on the phone with another tech service for an hour.

I live on PDS and I use Verizon for my cell (not for my main lines) and the reception is good.
