If you google free stuff birthday, you'll find huge lists of this. It's not like this is a local thing, typically only chains do this. Although if anyone knows of a local place that does this, that'd be appreciated since local places wouldn't be listed on the lists I mention. A lot of places make you sign up prior to your Bday & then they send a coupon via email or mail.

Free boat ride to Catalina Island via the Catalina Express (must pre-register online). Free eyebrow waxing at Ulta (must be on your birthday exactly)--they have a store in Goleta. Free car wash at Fairview Car Wash.
