National Plug-In Day

WHAT: Electric vehicle (EV) drivers and enthusiasts will celebrate to highlight the fun, clean-air benefits,
and cost-savings of electric cars next Sunday, September 23rd as part of the second annual National
Plug In Day.
Plug-in vehicles by Nissan, GM, Toyota, Ford, Tesla and others will be available for ride-and-drives or
on display, and two of the City of Santa Barbara's new EV charging stations will also be on display.
Santa Barbara's event is one of more than 60 across the country where electric vehicle owners and
interested citizens from Maui to New York will participate in electric car parades, "tailpipe-free" tailgate
parties, awards to leaders promoting EV-readiness, launches of new public EV charging stations, and
other events.

WHEN: Sunday, September, 23, 2012, from 11am-1pm. Ride-and-drives in the Nissan LEAF, Chevrolet
Volt, and Toyota Plug in Prius begin at 11 am, ribbon cutting ceremony at 12 pm, and EV parade starts
at 1 pm. Food will be available.

WHO: 23rd District Congresswoman Lois Capps, Santa Barbara Mayor Helene Schneider, Santa Barbara

The Community Environmental Council is organizing the Santa Barbara event. Plug In America, the
Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association are national organizers.
