Scanner Reports 9-19-12
updated: Sep 19, 2012, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Will once again it's Humpster Dumpster Day. Wasn't so long ago, maybe a year or so, I reported on the growing number of suicides we have had here in Santa Barbara County. People have many reasons for taking themselves out of the game. Some people are terminally ill and don't want to suffer when the end comes. I can certainly understand that, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that I think it should be up to the patient not up to the law. But that is my opinion. I think someone gave me a load of Manure when they told me there were just under 40 suicides in Santa Barbara County on the average each year a couple years ago. In the past 24 hours I have heard of 2 Hanging suicide deaths in Santa Barbara County, and 2 Overdose deaths in Santa Barbara County. I am not going to say where to protect the families and loved ones but I report that they occurred as public information. Those are the ones I heard. I'm curious if there were more. I don't know if the overdoses were intentional or what? Even two seems like a high number of suicides for this area when just a couple years ago it was reported to me that there is just under 40 a year. I think this is the most I have heard in a 24 hour period for some time.

Besides the actual deaths there were several attempts, and a couple other people reported as Suicidal. Even with all the organizations aimed at stopping suicides these deaths occurred.
