You can order one from eBay - its pretty easy to install them, they just take a little extra care. Just look up the model number and order one that can be returned. I replaced one a few years ago on a Toshiba - took me 20min and it was <$100 - but your model and cost may be different.

I was just going to say what 108 already said. Check Ebay.

This is so common they can be found on Ebay. However there are several screens sometimes for each model. I replace these professionally as Human Solutions Computers but I always remove the original 1st to get the exact part number and I do have vendors for these. I have a few dead laptops here and perhaps I have a used panel you can use if you'd like to call me with the brand and model. A recent model seemed standard but turned out to be a top line HD model and replacement was $189! The client passed on that one. Standard panel was $79 so you have to be careful and the connector position can vary but most vendors have a return policy if you get the wrong one.

WARNING - there are many floating around that are knock offs and seconds. I carefully researched this earlier this year when my son slipped and fell with his laptop in his backpack. The most reliable site I found was screenteckinc dot com . Great tech support, both via phone and e-mail. We have now had this screen installed for 6 months and it is still working perfectly. BTW: the install and removal of the old screen was very simple.

unless you're super awesome at taking apart your own laptop and putting it back together again....I recommend you try Tech Ease! They are on upper State St. in the same shopping center as AQUA Nails, Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, State Farm, the Laundromat, Sensational Pets, etc.... The guys there can fix it for you right away and you know they're going to do a professional job. I recommend them!

I was going to say ebay, too. You might be able to find a guide for your specific laptop if it's popular enough. If not, just keep track of the screws. Make sure it's cost-effective, tho. If the laptop's several years old, it might make more sense to replace it. Check the prices of similar units at Fry's. They start around $300 for low-end 15" laptops.

If you decide to do it yourself be careful with the connecting cable. Also, be careful with the hinges. Everything is much more delicate inside a laptop than a desktop. There maybe some good youtube videos to help. I found a used laptop like mine with a bad motherboard on eBay fairly cheap, and the LCD was perfect.

Laptopscreens--c-o-m THEN watch the video on youtube specifically for your screen. With the delivery of the screen (without instructions) They offered $20 fee per specific screen model/style if you'd video tape and post to youtube. I figured surely someone had already done it with my screen and I'd use theirs...sure enough. I felt so cool and successful. btw: Sears has the 00 screwdriver you'll need. I actually kept the video going despite the screen being removed. I could still hear the audio instructions! Good luck. Move gently.
