Frequently Asked Questions
What's an Edhat?
On January 20, 2005 Matt Kettmann wrote a GREAT article about us in the Independent. We couldn't have said it any better ourselves.
Is there really an Ed? Duh.
Where did the name Edhat come from? One subscriber suggested that it came from "Every Day Happenings Around Town". That's the best one we've heard.
Do you really count all those things? Yes. We count every tree, every plank, every bean, every shoe, and every cell phone. We may count silly things, but we count silly things well.
I started getting the daily email during the Film Festival. What's my handle?
Since we only had Film Festival emails, we needed to make-up your handle. In most cases it is just the first part of your email (before the @).
You can retrieve your handle by using the lost handle link.
Can I change my handle or email? Yes you can ... Here is the link you are looking for
How do you make money? Edhat's main goal today is to build our subscriber base. Eventually we will be receiving money for sponsorships,
advertising, and logo-wear sales. Some day soon we hope to offer advanced levels of subscriptions for which we will charge.
Working at Edhat sounds like fun. Can I work there? We are always looking for good people. Send us an email with your interests and experience.
Is Edhat funded by a political party, a religious sect, a special interest group, a foreign entity, or a corporate shell organization? Nope. Edhat is owned and funded by coolmaps.com, inc., a Santa Barbara web company
that has been in business since 1996. coolmaps.com makes its money selling software components for web design, and by hosting map-based business locators
for banks and national retail chains.
