In recent years there have been many changes in the local retail scene, but nowhere have the changes been more evident than at the Sears Shopping Center on La Cumbre Road. If you're shopping there today, and you care enough to send the very best, you will have to settle for something from Tiffany or Coach. The Hallmark store is gone. Also missing are The Body Shop, the Limited, and Forever 21. See's Candies has moved across the parking lot. And, the Walking Company has been relocated to the cheap seats next to Sears and K.B. Toys.
But the picture for yesterday's March Edness wasn't taken of the new part of the shopping center. It was taken of the old part, specifically the front entrance to Sears on the top level by the auto repair center. It is also right around the corner from the mysterious Hawaiian tile that Edhat uncovered long ago.
Because so many contestants guessed Macy's instead of Sears, the dedicated staff of edhat.com made a special trip to the mall to see if the two entrances were in fact the same. As it turned out, the Macy's entrance has a higher ceiling, different shaped columns, and no hanging lights.
