Yan England

Yan England

Yan England just turned 25 in December. He has been acting since he was 11. He lives in Montreal, but has spent time acting in LA. This is his first trip to Santa Barbara. He's here to promote his very first film, a 16-minute short called, Moi. It will screen on Saturday January 27 at 10:00PM at the Marjorie Luke Theater.

He dreamt up his movie idea one day and wrote, directed, and produced the entire film. He told us that the movie is about a fifteen-year old boy who discovers that, "maybe not all of his dreams are possible."

Yan is self-assured, well spoken, and incredibly upbeat and hopeful. He will return to Montreal on Monday to begin rehearsals for his part as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. He'll also begin work on a TV show, direct a documentary, a feature film, and a long list of other projects. It seems funny to this dedicated reporter that his movie could be about a dream unfulfilled.
