Multi-Generational Women’s Garden Party
Sunday August 26, 2012
03:00 PM

L’Dor V’Dor (From Generation to Generation) is a multi-generational women’s Garden Party and will take place on Sunday, August 26, 3:00-5:00 pm, at a private Montecito estate. The cost is $36 per family. This feel-good FUNraiser event, sponsored by the Women’s Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara is a celebration of family, honoring our roots, and growing together. This unique afternoon will include food, music, and art.

There will be entertainment for children of all ages, activity tables, cartoon portraits by Enterra, storytelling, balloon animals, and craft projects.

For the adults, guest speaker Jane Honikman (Santa Barbara County Genealogy Society and founder of PEP-Postpartum Education for Parents) will give a short talk about genealogy.

The event host will honor the founding ladies of the Federation’s Women’s Division, including Jeri Eigner, Maureen White, Leatrice Luria, Irma Jurkowitz, Betty Sanders, Ele Scher (z”l) and Gertrude Latkin (z”l).

Chairwoman Adele Rosen says, “Thirty years ago these women took a stand in the community and wanted to make a difference in supporting the various social programs in the growing Jewish community as well as supporting the many immigrants settling in Israel during the time of social pressures in their respective countries. The philosophy of l’dor v’dor, from generation to generation, is that anyone and everyone who wants to learn about their heritage, regardless of faith, should take time to ask family members about the memories and traditions of their culture.”

Music will enhance the day with Jazz Plus, and delicious refreshments for all are provided by Fresco Café and Panera Breads.

Valet parking will be provided, and the recommended attire is “hats and flats.”
