Circle V Ranch Family Camp
Friday August 17, 2012
The public is invited to attend the Circle V Ranch "Family Camp" from Friday, August17 through Sunday,
August 19, 2012. Located across from Cachuma Lake in the Santa Ynez Valley just 30 minutes north of
Santa Barbara, long-time Circle V Ranch Camp Director Ray Lopez has announced that cabins and tent
spaces are still available for this all-ages "sleep-over" camp experience. Circle V Ranch Camp was
founded in 1945 by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council of Los Angeles and has been located on its
current site since 1990 on 30-acres in the Los Padres National Forest in Santa Barbara County.
Lopez remarked, "Our traditional summer camp sessions are for children ages 7-13 and run for
six days and five nights including all lodging, meals, activities and recreation. This summer, we have
hosted more than 1,100 children so far. At Family Camp, we want to give parents, grandparents and
kids of all ages the chance to experience a three day and two night taste of Circle V fun."
Circle V Ranch Family Camp activities* available include: archery, hiking, swimming in the pool, arts &
crafts, painting, playing games of ping pong, soccer, or basketball on the new Huston Sports Court, as
well as miniature golf. (There is no TV, radio or internet access to affect the Circle V Ranch Camp
experience.) Campers will stay in air-conditioned log cabins (accommodating up to ten people-
pictured at left) or traditional canvas tents (sleeping six).
Fees for the 2012 Circle V Ranch "Family Camp" include six meals, lodging, all activities and supervised
fun. A private cabin accommodating up to 10 people in a family or group is $650; sharing a cabin with
others is $115 per adult/$75 for children ages 4-15 and under age 4 free. A traditional canvas tent with
bunk beds sleeping six is $360. Shower and restroom facilities are adjacent to every cabin and tent.
Reservations and payments for Family Camp are due by August 10, 2012 and are first come, first
confirmed. To receive the Family Camp application or for more information, contact Circle V Ranch
Camp Director Ray Lopez at 805-688-5252 or rlopez@svdpla.org
