With The Artist and Hugo dominating this year’s Academy Awards, the
silent era of cinema has once again hit the popular imagination. At 3:00
p.m. on July 7, 2012, the Carsey-Wolf Center will honor Santa Barbara’s
local contribution to this rich artistic legacy at UC Santa Barbara’s Pollock
Theater, with a screening of original silent films by Santa Barbara’s Flying
“A” Studios, complete with traditional live piano accompaniment. General
admission tickets are $20 -- $10 for students with ID -- and can be
