Of Civil Wrongs and Rights
Friday July 27, 2012
07:00 PM

When Fred Korematsu refused to obey Executive Order 9066, which
sent 120,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry into internment camps,
he became something extraordinary--a civil rights champion. This
documentary follows Korematsu’s story from the moment he first
resisted confinement to the hard-won victory he finally achieved 39
years later. (2000 - 60 min)

Location: Alhecama Theater, 914 Santa Barbara Street

The Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation continues “Sharing
Our Common Ground: Asian American History in Santa Barbara
County" with a three-part summer film series focusing on the Chinese
American and Japanese American communities.
