Spirit of Uganda review

Thanks so much for providing my boyfriend and I with the opportunity to go to the Spirit of Uganda. I absolutely loved it. My boyfriend had low expectations, which were definitely surpassed, but of course he wouldn't admit that he "loved it."
The performance was vibrant and entertaining and by the end of the evening had everyone out of the seats dancing. The 22 performers were between the ages of 9-20 and most of them were orphaned by either HIV/AIDS or civil war. For me, the whole night really put life into perspective of how lucky we are. Some of these children have seen war, others have lost both of their parents, all of their siblings, and they are up there on stage smiling and looking like they were loving life!! Very inspiring, and puts our superflourous desires into check. I hope others were able to take away a positive message from the night as well.
Uganda has the highest number of orphans than any other nation IN THE WORLD!! The Spirit of Uganda is put on by Empower African Children, a non-profit whose mission is to transform the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children through innovative education. I'm happy this non-profit is now on my radar.
The second photo is a picture of some of the performers posing with a family that attended the event.
