Roger the Scanner Guy - 12/08/2009

Scanner report
updated: Dec 07, 2009, 1:06 PM

by Roger the scanner guy

Friday afternoon there was some type of incident near the Coast Village roundabout. I don't know if it was an accident or what? I thought I heard someone say "sinkhole" but I don't know if that's what it was maybe one call crossed over another, that happens a lot. At a motel in the 5800 block of Calle Real there was a code blue and I believe the person passed on, don't know how. Engine 2 responded to a fall victim head injury in the 600 block of North Milpas, there was an unknown medical on Mesa Lane, then an African American man beating up a white woman by the Rescue Mission from the description it sounded like the fella who was waiting for my mail the other day maybe next time he comes around I could show him my sidewalk about 45 times I don't like women beaters.

Friday evening, there was a theft from Territory Ahead on State Street. At State and Toyon there was an female drunk passed out in the Street, her and hubbie were tying a few on at a motel in the area they were quite a pair seldom do people match up perfectly in marriage these two were "Salt and Pepper shakers." Bookends, I think one or both might have spent the rest of their lovely little weekend as guests in the Grey Bar Hotel.

There was a possible child abduction at 8th and Linden in Carpinteria heard no more about it, so figured they found the kid. A fella went to the hospital feeling suicidal and felt ignored so he went out there and who knows I missed the rest of the call maybe he called from a payphone and took an ambulance in the 2nd time around. There were 6-8 gang types hanging out in front of a fast food restaurant in the 500 block of North Milpas, a three year old child was missing on State Street for about 20 minutes or so. The police were following "gang types" around or maybe there was a parade they sounded like they were watching something interesting maybe they were watching donuts being made in a Easy Bake oven, there were a couple hookers fighting over a john on Salinas Street and for those of you that don't know we do have hookers in Santa Barbara.

Saturday: There was a 20002 near Samarkand in the afternoon the suspect was a female Hispanic woman in her 40's. A police officer was shaking a vehicle in the 800 block of Cacique I don't know why maybe they are checking peoples shocks now. Somewhere in the County a pit bull chased a small child and I think it caused some type of medical problem, a deputy was able to corner but not contain the dog so was requesting animal control, I feel sorry for both the dog and the child. There was an 1144 en route to Marian Medical Center, in the 600 block of East Victoria there was a threats investigation, loud music at the Boys Club on Anapamu, a boy and girl running away from a foster home in Santa Maria, I used to run away from foster care all the time back in the 70's me and my gal hitching all over the Northeast in the Winter time. ROGERS BREAKING NEWS, A SHOT WAS HEARD INSIDE A RESIDENCE IN THE 1300 BLOCK OF STERLING OFF CASITAS PASS ROAD, MOMENTS AGO SEVERAL "GANG TYPES" JUMPED INTO A VEHICLE AND FLED THE AREA, SHERIFFS ARE SETTING UP A PERIMETER AT THIS TIME. Stay tuned for more news.

In the 100 block of East Haley there was a check the welfare of a person laying in the street, at Foxen Canyon and Alise Canyon there was a single rollover accident in the ditch, in the 400 block of Richland there was a check the welfare of a young man for his Mother, at Victoria and De La Vina injury Traffic Accident between a vehicle and a bicycle. Breaking news the Sheriffs made entry into the home and found no shooting victims inside they are now checking the back yard. Engine 4 responded to a fall victim with a head injury, there was a medical emergency at the Granada for difficulty breathing, loud music on Cardinal Street those darn Catholics can really party, there was a break-in at the Alamo Hotel on Bell Street.

Breaking news, no shooting victims, just shoots fired so all's well for now on Sterling in Carpinteria but just for information there is some type of "gang type" actitives going on in the area as I've heard other police agencies speaking of them. There was a check the welfare of a code 40 in the 500 block of State Street, a suspicious subject on Bath Street, a drunk driver in a silver Kia SUV, at 100 block of State a traffic accident. Somewhere in the county a man found a 3 year old child wandering around on his front lawn at eleven o' clock at night it was either Santa Maria or San Luis on Wilshire Lane or Avenue, one of the two. There was an arrest in the 500 block of East Micheltorena of a female who was not taking the arrest lightly as she was very well versed in using the "F" Word.

9:30 A.M. runner down at Cliff and Los Positas, 500 block of North Voluntario an unresponsive male with a medical emergency. Winchester Gun Club, accidental gunshot injury, Shorline and Loma Alta runner down. An idiot harassing a female at East Beach, followed her across Cabrillo Ball Field toward the hotel across the street the idiot was last seen wearing a red sweat shirt and green pants, o.k. it's Christmas but it's against the law of Roger to wear Christmas clothes and break the law especially if you are hurting someone else.

Runner down, code 2, paramedics missed where. Drunk driver at State and 154 up the Pass with a police officer in toe, boy that would hurt. 242 at Gutierrez and Milpas 20 year old "gang type" and 50 year old elderly man, I hate when they call people elderly when they are younger than I. I don't know who hit who? There was a burglary on Miradora I'm really not sure if I spelt that righe. Subject screaming in the 800 block of Cacique maybe they were being shaked. Two pickup trucks involved in a road rage incident a Ford aka Found on Road Dead, and a Chevy aka I have no idea. Both driving at a high rate of speed and getting off at Hope at Highway 101.

There was another 1144 at Marian Medical Center, in Santa Maria, a woman driving a green Volvo station wagon somewhere in Santa Barbara was threatening suicide, a 72 year old man who was involved in a verbal 415 with his Son at 19 South Milpas was missing from that area and also threatening suicide by pills he was found a few moments later, at La Marina and Cliff there was a motorcyclist down, at Milpas and Quinientos a subject down, in the 900 block of East Yanonali a subject casing the area for thievery, 2 more people down off a motorcycle at La Marina and Cliff Drive, one in custody 800 block of Cacique that shaking paid off, suspicious subjects at Grove Lane and San Remo casing the area, a medical emergency at 3100 block of Via Diego difficulty breathing. 2100 block of Stanwood Drive shots fired , never heard nothing else, injury traffic accident Haley and Olive vehicle and pedestrian, fight brewing 235 West Montecito I wonder if that's anything like coffee? In the 900 block of De La Guerra unknown medical emergency, male to the front.

There was a 20002 in the 1000 block of Chapala in a city lot, then some sort of stand off between a Father and his Son in the North side of the city, something about a knife to someone’s throat. I actually got the idea the person was holding a knife to his own throat. I don't know how it ended up because of course the scanner scans. Check the welfare of a woman screaming in the 300 block of Lloyd Ave, medical emergency 600 Oak Grove Drive don't know what. 14 South Canada drunk driver in blue van threatening to beat up person calling police on his worthless carcass, 459 burglary to vehicle around De La Vina, Chapala, at Valerio. 214 South Canada suspicious circumstances never heard what they were, late accident report 500 West Figueroa, Purse Snatch by several Hispanic females wearing hoodies from a night club in the 400 block of State Street 15 minutes later the purse snatch call was called off because the woman said "She lost her own purse." I think they said purse. And that's all their was the ROGERS BREAKING NEWS ON STERLING Turned out to be nothing but if this was a real emergency oxygen masks would be falling from the ceiling in front of you and you would be instructed on how to use them. It's really raining out there folks stay dry, stay warm, you don't want this illness I got last night I had a dream that my ex who is no longer among us was trying to pull me over to the other side it was weird because we were at Cottage Hospital (in the dream) and she was chasing me around in one of those "Power Chairs" but hers was like really fast so I don't think it's my time maybe in the future, she was a nurse at Cottage though many years ago. Anyway you all have a great rainy Monday and if my ex doesn't catch up with me I will see you on Wednesday. Roger
