Dream Foundation rolled out the red carpet to host the 8th annual Celebration of Dreams, by fusing the world of fashion and entertainment into one unforgettable evening at the beautiful Bacara Resort and Spa. A packed ballroom of celebrities and glittering fashionistas alike came together to celebrate Dream Foundation's major event to help raise awareness and funding for adults suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
This year's event played host to some of the music industry's most talented stars with performances by 2009 "American Idol" winner Kris Allen, who paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson with ‘Man in the Mirror" and sang his hot new single "Live Like We're Dying." Michael McDonald (The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan), performed a solo piece before joining a duet with Grammy nominee Taylor Dayne and Kenny Loggins to sing "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Additional performances included world champion artistic acrobatic gymnasts Realis ("Dancing with the Stars" and "America's Got Talent") and "American Idol" contestant Frenchie. Dream Foundation Ambassador Priscilla Presley was presented with the Founder's Award, and long time Santa Barbara supporters Jeff and Susan Bridges were honored for their exceptional dedication and commitment.
The highly anticipated fashion show featured luxurious looks from New York designer Carolina Herrera's 2010 Resort Collection, presenting bright, floral and fabulous designs inspired by renowned modernist photographer and artist Man Ray. Previous events have included famed designers Valentino, Chloé, Diane von Furstenberg, and Roberto Cavalli.
Guests jump started their holiday shopping with silent and live auctions hosted by entertainer Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits), who broke out in song to enliven the auction featuring an incredible array of exciting items including finale tickets to "American Idol", VIP tickets to "Dancing with the Stars", a luxurious European 5-star tour on Crystal Cruises, and a Four Seasons exotic trip to Thailand.
"We are so grateful to our supporters for embracing Dream Foundation, and who recognize the good of what we're doing and see that their contribution is going directly to making dreams come true for thousands of patients at the end of life's journey," said Thomas Rollerson, Founder and President of Dream Foundation.
Dream Foundation is celebrating its 15th Anniversary and is responsible for granting 8,852 dreams, 46,800 bouquets of flowers, and 31,374 toys for children, with 1,081 active volunteers.
