Structure Fire at Cleveland Elementary School

SANTA BARBARA, CA - 11/17/2009 -At 05:05 hours this morning, the Santa Barbara City Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at Cleveland Elementary School located at 123 Alameda Padre Serra. Cleveland Elementary School is part of the Santa Barbara School District. The initial response consisted of three engines, 1 ladder truck and a battalion chief. Upon arrival, the initial responding engine found a fire on the outside of a classroom at the rear of the campus (room 8). The fire and smoke had extended into the classroom damaging approximately ΒΌ of the classroom. The fire was quickly knocked down with no additional fire resources required. Currently, a fire investigator is on scene attempting to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Cleveland Elementary School will be OPEN as only one classroom was damaged.
