Comedian Jonathan Winters returned to his roots in live radio when he appeared for an interview on the Coach Ron Tunick show THE BUSINESS OF LIFE on KKZZ AM 1400 in Ventura, CA on November 3, 2009.

“We were thrilled to have Jonathan appear on our radio show,” said Coach Ron Tunick. “We’re even more pleased he appeared in our studio.”

Winters, who started in live radio in Ohio, appeared in the KKZZ studio for an hour-long interview with Coach Ron Tunick. Live radio holds a soft spot in Winters’ heart because his mother had a radio show and radio is where he began his career.

During the interview, Tunick questioned Winters about his most famous character, Maude Frickert, and the other characters he made famous on television and in the movies such as Henry and Rev. William Glenworthy, Mearth and Gunny Davis. During the interview, Tunick had Winters reveal the influence he had on other comedians such as Bill Cosby, Robin Williams and Frank Caliendo.
