The Start
Here is the FIRST report sent in at 8:03PM on Tuesday by an Edhat subscriber:
"A fire is burning in the hills above Santa Barbara this evening. White smoke visible and smell of smoke clear from Girsh Park. Sounds like at least one helicopter is fighting it. Someone heard the fire is near the Gun Club up San Marcos Pass."
Gap Fire Evacuation Information
EVACUATION WARNING UPDATE
The mandatory evacuation order for Farren Road above Rancho Embarcadero has been downgraded to an Evacuation Warning.
All other mandatory evacuation orders and warnings remain in place, as follows:
Mandatory Evacuation Order:
· West Camino Cielo
· Windemere Tract
· Haney Tract
· Kinevan Area
· Trout Club
· Hidden Valley (HWY 154 Area)
Evacuation Warning:
· Farren Road above Rancho Embarcadero
· Dos Pueblos Ranch, Santa Barbara Ranch and Eagle Canyon North of U.S 101
· La Patera Canyon
· Glen Annie Canyon
· Winchester Canyon Road to Farren Road above Calle Real including Winchester Commons
· Patterson to Glen Annie Road North of Cathedral Oaks Road
· Areas above Patterson Avenue including Via Del Rey, Spur Valley Road, Camino Manadero, Camino Galena, Camino Andaluz, Camino Palomera, Camino Cerralvo, Camino Rio Verde, Camino Meleno and Camino Altozano
· Painted Cave Area
Residents are advised to stay alert for additional information by listening to County Government cable TV station Channel 20, or the following AM or FM radio "Stations of Choice" for Emergency Public Information or other local television stations.

If the public is in need of assistance with animals call the Animal Hotline at (805) 681-4332. Please do not bring animals to Earl Warren Showgrounds, they are no longer accepting animals.

from the Aircrane helicopters as well as the fixed wing tankers from Airtac could have knocked the
