The Sign at Mel's - The Sign at Mel's: Most subscribers figured out that the photo we showed you yesterday in the Wednesday Where Is It (WWII) contest was a representation of a cocktail glass. Most people guessed that the picture was of a bar. Rocks got the most votes. But, the actual location was right around the corner from Rocks. It was the bottom square on the old Mels sign.

The Cat on the Wall - The Cat on the Wall: If you are parking in this lot because you are being forced by the nearby lot closure or just to feel the warm glow of the attendant, you should look up on the wall that divides the lot from Anapamu. There, across from the Karpells Manuscript Museum … there, between Crispin Leather and the new mixed-use building … there, on top of the wall, sits a little black cat with painted on whiskers and two empty eye sockets which used to contain marbles.

All is Well with Ed - All is Well with Ed: Did you hear about the 11 holes in the ground? Well, they are on Equestrian Avenue in Santa Barbara. At this point in time we are not exactly sure what those holes are doing there. They each have a green and rusty old metal top on them. Each top has a letter stenciled on it. Reading left to right they spell KJIHGFEDCBA. From right to left to right they spell ABCDEFGHIJK.
